Programme Notes
I composed ‘The Night I Left Knutsford Terrace’ in 2023, following a visit to Timothy Sun’s studio in the bustling Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong. Knutsford Terrace, nestled within this vibrant district, pulses with nightlife energy, hosting concerts, theater gigs, bars, and clubs. The music draws from the nocturnal tapestry of Knutsford Terrace, where I witnessed a spectrum of emotions amongst bar patrons – joy, melancholy, and everything in between. This composition encapsulates the myriad sentiments swirling amidst the neon-lit streets and echoing laughter of the night.
